The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for the complete software lifecycle from analysis and design through development and testing of open source products and commercial extensions with a specialty in OLAP and BI. The role includes support and pre-sales consulting.

• Develop in an Agile development environment
• Support multiple projects simultaneously
• Work with customers, engineers, documentation and senior management
• Communicate complex problems to the technical ability of the audience

responsibilities

• Design and implement Jaspersoft's OLAP and BI products
• Work with product management to understand market requirements
• Write functional and technical design specifications
• Implement solutions in J2EE and related technologies
• Develop automated unit tests
• Provide assistance to QA and Tech Pubs organizations to ensure product is properly QA'd and documented
• Support open source community, partners, and customers (provide forum support)
• Assist the SE's with Pre-sales support needs, Data Warehousing configuration, etc.

experience

• 4+ years experience with Java, JSP, HTML, JavaScript
• 3+ years experience with MDX, XML/A
• 3+ years experience with Spring, Hibernate
• 3+ years experience with Tomcat, JBoss or other app server
• 3+ years experience with MySQL, Oracle or other RDBMS server
• 3+ years Object/relational mapping layers, metadata management, SQL generation, data caching
• Exposure to OLAP products such as Essbase, Express, Microstrategy, Business Objects
• Microsoft Analysis Services, etc. a strong plus
• Experience with open source development a strong plus

skills

• Experience with Mondrian and/or J-Pivot highly desirable
• Strong design experience in Object Oriented programming
• Ability to understand complex data models and metadata
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with project team members
• Demonstrated planning/organizing and time management abilities
• Experience with Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) a strong plus
• Experience with Ajax a plus
