QA Analyst

responsibilities

  • Develops test plans to include test scenarios, test cases and data, as well as quality criteria and measurement techniques; validates acceptance criteria and ensures application adheres to quality and functional requirements
  • Identify, analyze and report test results for functional and regression test runs
  • Interface with development teams on the creation/review of test plans, including participation in release planning and Scrum sprint meetings.
  • Review and analyze requirements and technical documents, where available, for intended purpose of creating test plans, test scenarios and test scriptsby implementing and conducting formal requirements walkthroughs/inspections
  • Maintain a road map for QA planning on projects, planned automation, tools and test development
  • Coach junior members in SDLC process and QA testing techniques
  • Signal development teams to product design discrepancies and/or deviations from standards
  • Provide input in developing quality assurance standards, especially with regard to functional, regression, performance and load testing
  • Develop effective relationships within and among departments and other teams' members
  • Provide both functional and day-to-day support of our clients
  • Performs root cause analysis and troubleshooting to address issues; conducts in depth analysis of testing processes and methodologies and develops new/revised standards, as necessary.
  • May develop XML/HTML  automation tests in a scripting language for backend tests and have the ability to write SQL to query the database.
  • Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge

experience

  • Knowledgeable of software testing, SDLC, SQA processes and software QA lifecycle
  • Effective team working and team leading skills
  • Strong motivation and execution ability to initiate and implement process and technology requirements
  • Ability to perform as a project point person to internal/external clients
  • Familiar with documenting test plans and test cases
  • Knowledge of a defect tracking system
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Knowledgeable of Windows PC (98, Win2K, XP)\Mac required
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and ability to create and update database queries required
  • Client server environments or network administration skills preferred
  • Knowledge of scripting language or object-oriented programming language a plus

education

  • Four-year-degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or software engineering desired; or add two additional years experience.
  • Certification in testing tools or testing skills desirable.
